Book Project #2: Publishing, designing, and printing of [Title to be revealed later]

In the fall of 2021, I commissioned an author to write a novella. I have been working with a Berkeley-based artist to illustrate the story with both wood engravings and line drawings, and have spoken with a limited edition bookbinder about creating the binding. I have also been working to launch the name of my private press where I will have the opportunity to showcase the books themselves, rather than the process of book making as I do on this site. I look forward to the launch of this soon.
Meanwhile, I’m studying typography, book design, and experimenting with different oil-based inks and papers for this project. There is also the tedious playing around in InDesign and working to pull together my interpretation of the author’s work into a physical object that will draw the reader into the story.
Book Project #1: Writing, Designing, Printing, and Binding: A Curmudgeon
A Curmudgeon is my first project to write, design, print, and bind a book to completion. I have written about different aspects of this project over on my blog. I have produced an edition of 20 copies.
